Find Words Containing Only Your Letters And One Blank Tile Word Finding Tool, using the censored Enable word list

Find all words that can be made using only the letters that you specify and one blank tile. This word tool will find all words in the censored Enable word list (170,695 words) that can be made with these letters. The words in the resulting word list will have some or all of these letters, and only these letters. This search is sensitive to the frequency of occurrence of letters in the requested set. If you specify 2 n's in your request, the resulting words will have, at most, 3 n's, since the blank tile can substitute for any letter, n included. You will get more words if you specify more letters. This is a very handy word finder for use in Scrabble® , Words With Friends, and other word games. If you want even more words in the results list, perform the contains only + 1 blank tile search using the mammoth censored words list.

Scrabble's Word Of Ze Year Is Gender Neutral, And Potentially High Scoring

rophy-hungry logophiles have always rushed to memorise hoards of vocabulary whenever the new list of permissible Scrabble words is published.

And the next update in May is set to offer something particularly special - for the first time, the Scrabble dictionary will feature a gender-neutral pronoun - ze.

Speaking ahead of the game’s 70th anniversary this weekend, Elie Dangoor, Chairman of the World English Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) said: “Ze will be a regular word in the game - it will be used much more than other new words because it will score highly. I will try it whenever I can.”

The new Scrabble dictionary, which will be published in May, includes a handful of new words gleaned from social media and Mr Dangoor expects them to be welcomed.

But when modern slang started to seep into the dictionary decades ago, older players weren’t excited about the changes. Mr Dangoor added: “When we had ‘lolz’ they turned their noses up at text speak, but now they are much happier to play those words.

“Part of the education can be a continuum - you want to learn [the words] to score more points so they become part of your language knowledge.

“So like I am learning English words from Shakespeare, I am learning text speak from Scrabble.”

Over 4,500 new words will be added to the official Scrabble dictionary next year, reflecting linguistic changes over the past four years and additions to the Collins’ English Dictionary.

However the nature of the game’s scoring means only a handful will see regular use.

Tactical players rush to learn as many two letter words as possible - something that came into regular use in the 1970s, according to the dictionary’s compilers.

Among the other potentially useful, shorter words being added are millennial favourite “bae”, which means boyfriend or girlfriend, and “zen” used as an adjective to mean peaceful.

The changes will also finally allow “pluto” to be played. Previously excluded by the rules on proper nouns, it will now be acceptable as a verb meaning to lose importance. Its definition stems from the idea that Pluto became less important when it was demoted from a planet to a dwarf planet.

SCRABBLE WORD FINDER

Use the Word Finder tool above to find every possible combination of words from your input word. You can use the generator tool as a cheat for scrabble, WWF, Jumble, Literati, and much more. To use our Scrabble Word Finder, enter in all your rack letters. You can enter "?"s for blank tiles. Use the Extra String input box if you know you have to use certain letters. For instance, in Scrabble, if you are building off a word that ends in the letter "G," and you want your word to start with a "G," you can enter G in the extra string, and choose "at beginning" so the Word Finder will return all words starting with the letter G that include your letters.

Note that in this case you will not have to enter the letter "G" in your letters up top, unless you have an additional "G" that you want to use in the word.
You can also choose to sort by Scrabble Point Values or WWF Point Values. This will tell you the most valuable plays you can make on your board. Each result links to The Word Finder dictionary so you can see the definition of the words you are about to play. We also have a Draw Something Help and a Scramble With Friends Tool that will allow you to achieve higher scores in those games.

Our Word Finder Tool searches our database of words from the SOWPODS dictionary that both Scrabble and WWF are based upon. It also includes words that were added by the creators of the both games such as "texting." In some very rare occasions, there will be a word that is returned which is not accepted by Scrabble or WWF. Typically this is because Scrabble has chosen to remove the word because of its negative influence. We will refrain from posting sample words here because they can sometimes be vulgar. But if you are solely a words with friends conisuer, consider giving Scrabble a whirl on the app store. It has improved greatly! If you still prefer wwf, try out the words with friends cheat tool that we have as well.

THE WORD FINDER

How can you get better at scrabble? To improve your score at pretty much any word game, you need to get familiar with a few sets of words. Check out our Scrabble Word Lists, which are invaluable to improving your score. If you get to know the 2 letter words and the words with a Q but no U in them, you will have a huge advantage. This is because you can rack up huge points by creating multiple words in just one play, and sometimes a 2 letter word allows you to do just that. Additionally, knowing your two letter words allows you to get rid of tiles at the end of games. Another list people don't talk about as often is the list of hooks. A 3 letter hook allows you to create 2 words in your play, one that adds a letter to then beginning (or end) of a word, and your own word that you actually spell out. You can also access the Anagram Solver which will sort out your anagram finding issues. Currently it's a single word Anagram Solver but we also have a multi word generator as well. It is also important to remember to play defense in Scrabble/WWF. This means that you should not open up the triple letter word tile for your opponent(s) because they can score big. The only exception is if you yourself are scoring big in the process, or if you think your opponent cannot utilize the triple word tile. Even better is if you have a rare combination of letters (and blanks) that would allow you to use the triple word tile in your next turn after opening it up, while still making it tough for your opponent to use.

Word Finder Instructions

Trying to figure out what words can i make with these letters? This scrabble word finder will generate a list of words using these letters. Simply enter your scrabble letters in the top box and hit the get words button. This will update the letters in the solver - it will go out and find words with these letters using a scrabble word dictionary. Results are ranked by the points scored. It is a great source of scrabble word help.

Using the Scrabble Word Finder To Build off Other Words

Once you've got your letters entered into the scrabble word generator, use the additional boxes to help you build off the letters already on the board. If there's an opportunity to build off an existing word by adding letters to the end, use the "starts with" box to tell the solver what you are building from. Similarly, you can use "ends with" when you are adding letters to the front of a word. If you want to build across an existing word, use the includes letter box. If you enter multiple letters in the include letter box, the solver assumes it can only use one of them. Imagine you're building across an existing word and thus can only use one of the letters to put your tile down.

Scrolling through words in the scrabble word finder

We present a paginated list of words the scrabble word finder identified. These are sorted by points score. Use the arrow buttons to scroll back and forth until you find the word you want. When you're working with the list, be sure to be alert for opportunities to play off special points tiles on the board. These can really boost your score when you find them.

Scrabble Word Finder

Increase your vocabulary and your Scrabble score by using the online word finder

Are you a keen Scrabble player but sometimes cannot get past a mental block? Then look no further, we can help you unblock those high scoring words with our Scrabble Word Finder.

Just type in the letters from your rack and in a trice we will show you every possible valid word that can be made. The Scrabble Wordfinder is better than any old anagram website, as it allows you to put in a question mark for those handy blanks. The word finder will then work away in the background to generate words using every possible combination of letters to produce (hopefully) the winning word. Dictionaries may now be obsolete, as finding a word online is quicker and easier than fumbling your way through a thick book, which should free up some space on your bookcase for your new Scrabble trophies!

If your online Scrabble opponents always seem to come up with impossible seven letter words, then match them by using the word finder to max out your scores. It is not just useful for Scrabble though, other word games like Bananagrams or Words with Friends will also be improved by using the word search facility.
Remember, you don't have to know the meaning of a word to be able to play it! We can't guarantee that you will win every game but hopefully your odds will improve when you've got our super tool at your fingertips.

Scrabble Word Maker

To use the Scrabble Word Builder, just enter all the letters from your rack. You can enter a ? for a blank tile. The search engine will allow you to enter up to three blank tiles. In addition to using these for actual blank tiles in your rack, this is really useful for playing off words and letters that are already on the board. You can use a wildcard (?) search for an additional letter and match that to one that is already on the board and play a new word from that. The column headers in the results table are also links. Click to sort the results by point value, length or alphabetically. Good luck!

Above Are The Results Of Unscrambling Blanks.

Using the word generator and word unscrambler for the letters B L A N K S, we unscrambled the letters to create a list of all the words found in Scrabble, Words with Friends, and Text Twist. We found a total of 40 words by unscrambling the letters in blanks. Click these words to find out how many points they are worth, their definitions, and all the other words that can be made by unscrambling the letters from these words. If one or more words can be unscrambled with all the letters entered plus one new letter, then they will also be displayed.

DESIGN215 WORD FINDER

The Design215 Word Finder is a free utility that unscrambles words, finds anagrams, solves jumbles, finds rhyming words, and helps with Scrabble, crosswords, and other word games. For example, you can find all 6 letter words that start with "d" and end with "n". Find words that rhyme by searching for words that end with the same letters. If you enter letters into the "Unscramble" box, the other fields will be ignored and the program will find any words that can be formed from those letters. Unscramble now finds combinations of two words by default.

DIRECTIONS AND TIPS

UNSCRAMBLE UPDATED 12.22.2012:
By default, the "Unscramble" box now returns a list of one and two word solutions that use all letters. Remember, the "Unscramble" box ignores all other fields.

For games like SCRABBLE®, check "show all words you can make with these letters" to find all words that can be made from any number of the letters entered.

Word searches return a maximum of 500 words, 1500 for unscrambles.

To find words that rhyme, enter the last few letters of a word in the "Ends with" box.
Use the "Length" menu to limit the number of letters in the words being searched. If you only want to find 4 letter words, select "4 letters". If you want to find words of any length, up to and including 8 letters, select "8 letters" and check the "or less" box.
The "Contains" box works two ways. Enter "cat" with the checkbox unchecked, and you'll find words like "catch", "locate", and "tomcat". If "any order" is checked, you'll find words containing the letters "c", "a", and "t", in any order, like "cadet", "exact", and "teach".

Complex Example:

If you wanted to find words that begin with "a", end with "s" and contain "a" and "i" in the middle of the word, enter "a" in "Begins with", "s" in "Ends with", and "aai" in "Contains" with "any order" checked. The two a's are necessary if you want words that begin with "a" AND have another "a" somewhere in the middle. You'll find "airbags", "animals", and "aviators".

Wildcards or Missing Letters

To unscramble a word when one or more letters are missing:
1. Enter the known letters in the "Contains" box instead of "Unscramble".
2. Check "any order".
3. Select the total number of letters in the word from the "Length" menu.

For example, if you had 4 letters and a wildcard, "e?tca", you would enter "etca" in the "Contains" box, check "any order" and select a Length of "5 Letters".

Crossword Puzzles

Use the "Length" menu with a combination of "Begins with", "Ends with", or "Contains", depending on what letters in the crossword are filled in. Uncheck "any order".

HISTORY

The programming for this page was originally written in GFA-Basic by Robert Giordano on an Atari TT030 while he was in college. His program would spellcheck in real time as you typed, on a 32mhz computer, using a 99,000 word dictionary! People using Windows 95 were amazed... and jealous. In 2001, he converted some of the code to ASP and created a web page on gallery215.com but it was not available to the public. In 2005, the ASP version was converted to PHP for this site using the ASP Translator and a few tweaks.

 The Basics

Type in the letters from your rack into the Rack letters field. If you want to build your word using parts of other words, then you can type in the pattern of letters and empty spaces from the game board into the Pattern field.  Use '_', '#' or '?' characters for empty spaces.  All other fields are set by default to allow this simple search to work properly.

Limiting word length

By default, all words matching the letters and/or pattern you enter will be listed in the Search Results regardless of length.  However, you can limit the length of the listed words by setting the Min. Word Length field.

Sorting the words

The Search Results for the Scrabble (R) Game page can be set to sort the matching words either by length (shorter words first), by score (highest score first), or alphabetically.

Pattern Matching - The pattern you enter can be interpreted in one of several ways, as described in the following list:

Match pattern exactly

The pattern will only match words of the same length or shorter (subject to the Min. Word Length limit).  The words must also contain the indicated letters in the given positions.  For example, the pattern "_at__" would match "bathe", "latin", "bat", and "atom".  It would not match "mathematics", because it is too long.
Match pattern at start of word - The pattern will only match at the beginning of a word.  For example, the pattern "wo" would match "work", "wood", and "worry", but not "unwound", since the "wo" in "unwound" occurs in the middle of the word.
Match pattern at end of word - The pattern will only match at the end of a word.  For example, the pattern "an" would match "bean", "span", and "man", but not "annual", since the "an" in "annual" occurs in the beginning of the word.
Match pattern anywhere in word - The pattern will match anywhere in a word.  For example, the pattern "or" would match "orange", "more", and "floor".
